Barney Street Park is a handy, beginner friendly Nerang River fishing location at the Northern end of the Sundale Bridge in Southport.
The park offers anglers of all ages a convenient fishing spot with a solid fishing platform as well as a rocky shoreline under the bridge.
There’s plenty of structure at this location which generally holds a large number of fish and with the good street lighting it’s great for fishing even at night.
Kayak launching is not suitable at this location but just on the other side of the bridge you’ll find the sandy beach of The Old Sea Wall Beach Park.
